My name is Scott Stoddard. I'm a third-year Computer Science student at Bishop's University in Quebec. I live in the country (really - no more suburbs for me!) and when I go outside at night I can actually see a sky filled with stars - not the purple haze of city lights.
I enjoy everything to do with computers...got my start programming when I was very young and delighted in running a BBS on my Commodore 128 when I was in grade 9-10. I always knew I wanted a technical job - I never wanted to be in the spotlight, but I wanted to make sure that it existed and that my friends were in it. Now, I spend my spare time programming in any number of languages or learning a new one, just because.
Am I a computer geek? Sure, and proud of it! I don't believe in the negative connotations that have been associated with that term. My life has been filled with much happiness and great people - so why would I want it to be any different? And remember - "the geek shall inherit the earth." ;)
So why a blog? Why not I say. Millions of people are doing it. When I was young my mother asked me if all of my friends decided to jump off a bridge, would I? I said sure! That being said, I tend to follow the crowd with relative infrequency.
So, read, enjoy, comment, whatever.
